AltCom in Somerville from Thursday through Sunday

AltCom is back and better than ever - this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at the Somerville Theatre and The Burren will be taken over by the best that alternative comedy has to offer. On Sunday, The Onion, America's Finest News Source, will appear live at The Armory. If you are into comedy, you have to be in Somerville for the second half of this week.

The show on Thursday night will feature improv troupe Lafta Obscura with Ken Reid, Sean Sullivan and Nate Johnson in the Somerville Theatre Screening Room.

Friday's shows at the Somerville Theatre look really incredible: the early show is headlined by the incomparable Janeane Garofalo, and is opened by Jamie Kilstein, and an on-stage duo of Myq Kaplan & Micah Sherman. The late show is Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company with Rob Riggle from "The Daily Show", the fantastically weird Eugene Mirman, and Ian Moore. We advise you to get tickets for these as soon as you can.

At The Burren in Somerville on Saturday, the burlesque act Jerkus Circus with the Steamy Bohemans is the headliner, Ian Moore, Jamie Kilstein warm things up. Back at the Somerville Theatre Screening Room, Brian Longwell does his one-man show.

We're really intrigued to see what The Onion will do at the Armory on Sunday - can't wait to see them "broadcast" their version of the news, live!

Be sure to go to the AltCom website to get more info on each of the performers, see the full schedule, as well as get directions to each of the venues.
