2008 Performers
Jim Jeffries
Jim Jeffries has been criticized by the Christian Voice and was once attacked on stage by an audience member in England. He is a cult favorite in England, Ireland, Scotland and Australia, and he recently hosted the NME Music Awards in Los Angeles, featuring Jane’s Addiction and the Lemonheads. “His trick is to come across as quite charming, vulnerable even, while whipping up this maelstrom of vileness.” Chortle.
The Walsh Brothers
Chris and David Walsh are the biggest thing to come out of Charlestown since the Code of Silence. For three consecutive years they were named “Best Comedian” by the Improper Bostonian, and the Boston Herald calls them the “hottest rising artists in the Boston area!” “I just saw the Walsh Brothers. They were amazing.” Steven Wright
Patton Oswalt
Patton Oswalt is the voice of “Remy” in the hit film Ratatouille. He makes regular appearances on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, and Lewis Black’s “Root of All Evil.” The ChildCare Action Project gave both of his ½ hour comedy specials “red alerts”, primarily for his focus on “male demon anatomy.” Who cares? He’s funny!
Morgan Murphy
Morgan Murphy has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, and was recently named one of Variety Magazine’s Top Ten Comics to Watch. She performs regularly with the Comedians of Comedy as well as Aimee Mann’s annual Christmas Show. "Morgan is one of the funniest and most unique comics I know. It's hard to believe she's only 12 years old." Jimmy Kimmel
